  • 's "El Loco" is a lovely, crappy and odd little album that is hidden into the armpit of ZZ Top's back catalog, so to speak. Billy Gibbon's guitar sounds strangely soft, and the whole production and style contrast with their simple blues-rock & boogie-rock from the '70s, and anticipates their '80s AOR-ish sound.

  • El Loco is a solid album from ZZ Top, and it'd be one of my personal favourites by them. Each song on the record holds up on its own, from start to finish. The only snag to the album, is this is when ZZ Top were yet to perfect the blend between the eighties styled synth sounds and the bluesy guitar tones of Billy Gibbons/5().

  • El Loco follows through on the streamlined, jet-engine boogie rock of Degüello, but kicking all the ingredients up a diaragenphentcurnefenectolaxmiser.coinfo means that the grooves are getting a little slicker, while the jokes are getting a little sillier, a little raunchier. The double entendres on "Tube Snake Boogie" and "Pearl Necklace" are barely disguised, while much of the record plays as flat-out goofy party rock.
